You shall always find what you created in your mind, for instance, a benevolent God or an evil Devil. Between them are countless facets. Therefore, concentrate on the depth of your consciousness and on what you consider to be positive and good.

The core of my personality consists of many selves. The forms of my awareness are richer than yours.

"Song of the Earth" — Brooke Medicine Eagle. "The Soul Unearthed"

Oh, Mother, send me your voice
Teach me what I am to say
Show me how I am to live
To walk a medicine way.
Way oh hey, hey oh way,
Way nay hey hey oh.

This song was given by Spirit, singing through our sweet Mother Earth, to one of my students as she sat upon the mountain calling for a vision. Before this group of vision seekers had left for their individual places on the sacred mountain, I reminded them that their visions could come not only as something seen, but through every sense, every means of perception. I told them specifically that many of our native people in times past received a song — meant for their personal empowerment alone or a song to be given to all the people for their enjoyment and growth.

Oh, may I walk a beauty path
With every step I take.
And may I sing a beauty song
With every word I make.

Oh, Eagle, send me your voice...
Thunder beings send me your voice...
Oh, Pine Tree, send me your voice...
Singing waters, send me your voice...

Teach me what I am to say
Show me how I'm to live
To walk in medicine way.
Way oh hey, hey oh way,
Way nay hey hey oh!! Ho!
